Seems to me that you need to know for sure whether or not those bolts
are bottoming out. Why don't you try putting one in without the flat
washer and see how loose it is. That should tell you what is happening
with the flat washer in place.
I put a dab of RTV Blue on all the threads to help keep them from
backing
out on me.
I've never used RTV as a threadlocker. Does it work for that purpose?
You need to get yourself some Loctite blue (242) for future use.
Will I be ok with the flat washers there? That literally was the
*only*
thing I could do with it. As it is right now there is the small flat
washer
and the lock washer on top of that with the dab of RTV on the threads.
Yes, it will be OK if the bolts are pulling up tight. Maybe with the
fan being of thinner metal, the washers might even be a good idea.
