I found on my 304, that the bolt holes for the exhaust bolts were drill all
the way through, so I soaked the backside of the bolts with penatrating
fluid. I though this was a great design feature of the IH engines. You'll
have to use the little plastic straw that comes with "liquid Wrench" to get
the spray back there. Don't use WD-40, make sure you use a penatrant. I
only had one bolt that ended up with the head rounded off, so I ground the
head off, slipped the manifold off of the stud and vice gripped it out. Use
a 6 pt socket, not a 12 point. You might even want to have some metric
sockets around. I have found that the exhaust bolts, tend to errode (rust)
away some and the head will shrink in size (thus the metrics).
