So sorry to hear about Lars. We just had a tumor removed from our dog
Buttie, he's a Ridge back/Aussie Sheppard mix that's about 5. Fortunately it
was not cancerous. Buttie loves to ride in the Scout and thinks the best
addition was the Line-X. The original rubber mats got hot in the sun and
he'd do the Mexican hat dance and when the floor was just painted he'd
really slide around on the corners. In fact Buttie likes the Scout so much
that if I leave the back open he sleeps there.
 
I think John Hofs advice was best and just love him and keep him comfortable
until the pain gets to bad. If you decide to go with a new puppy please be
sure it's compatible with Lars. We tried a female puppy with our old female
schnauzer mix and that rotten puppy about tore here up.
 
It's been said that the only true love many men will ever know is the love
of a dog. Sadly as much as we love our Scouts they don't love back like a
dog. I'll wishing the best for you and Lars.
