RE: [ihc] Attention Wire Heads : A "Signal" For Help!
Hi Howard,
: From: owner-ihc@domain.elided [mailto:owner-ihc@domain.elided] On
: Behalf Of Howard R Pletcher
<snipage!>
: I'd suggest you first verify you're getting 12V out of the
: brake light switch, then pull the wheel and clean the dried
: out grease and crud out of the switch, relube it, and see if
: that fixes the problem. That was John Stricker's problem a
: few months back when he had similar symptoms.
Hmmm... Seems to make sense. A prudent plan - noted! Thanks, as always
Howard. I think I have a can of contact cleaner just for the purpose. Since
I'll be re-lubing anyhow. BTW, what lube is preferred in this region? Is a
dash of white lithium too much? Or are talking something really light - a
silicone spray or something? I'd imagine you'd want something with a fair
amount of "stick-to-it-iveness" (That's for Hofs!). But not a real dust
magnet (e.g. *NOT* WD-40, dirt magnet extraordinaire!).
Goal for tonight: "last hurrah" search for the meter. I'm sure I have a
little neon light type tester somewhere, but I *HAD* a nice meter and want
to know where its gotten off to!
Cheers,
--Pete
