This might be a longshot, but, make sure the U-joints and driveline
slipjoints have grease.  They get a real workout on stop and go
vehicles.  When you stop the rear pinion wants to rotate down.
When you start moving it wants to rotate up.  For postal
service, I would think a pump of grease in each zerk
on the driveline and steering components at every oil 
change would help you defer much more expensive 
repairs.
