towing

I would think that what you can safely tow with a Scout would also depend on
what gears you have, and what transmission. I  have 3.07 diffs and a T18
tranny in my Scout and have been told that I shouldn't tow more than 3500
pounds with it, even though my GVWR is 6200 pounds. I believe 3500 is high -
class II rating.

BTW, does anyone know for sure if the stock step-bumper hitch is class I or
class II? I have been told both by different people, so I want to know for
certain.
