Only way i know to HARDEN copper/brass is via work hardening,
cold-working--rolling, etc.

I giggled at your use, or misuse of the zeros in your post. 9000
degrees probably would do more than anneal the brass, I would think.
Sizing the necks of cartridge cases and then having them expand when
the cartridge is fired, hardens the brass to the point where it cracks
when being sized, or shot, rather than just accepting the size change.
However, that raises a question. If I get a lot of pleasure from
shooting, and if my wife thinks I only do it for pleasure, is the brass
work hardened, or play hardened?
