I would want the 3/4 ton frame and springs, but 'convenient' closed knuckle
disk swaps only get you to 5 on 5.5" or 6 on 5.5" bolt patterns. I am
disallowing the possibility of a Helitool 'big 6' conversion for cost and
wheel availability reasons. I choose the IH '74/'75 200 8 lug axles over
other swaps because the front is at least an inch narrower overall and has
the correct spring centers. The brake rotor situation I now believe to be a
mostly trivial issue, thanks to Paul B. and some careful measuring.

The '68 also has an 'energy absorbing' steering column and associated
'divorced' steering box. In the case of p/s rigs, this is the first year of
the Saginaw integral p/s.
