Willy,
Were I you, I would keep the auto, and fabricate extension blocks and/or
pedal lever modifications for brake and accelerator. I don't see an
advantage to the expense and learning curve of hand controls, unless your
daughter is fully grown, and will need such modifications indefinitely...
And actually, even then I think it's better to keep the controls at the
feet. Whether you think she'll be getting taller or not would affect the
permanence of the installation, but I think changing to hand controlled
brake and accelerator should be a last resort, considered only when there's
no other choice. To my way of thinking, it would be a handicap to her, not
an advantage.
