RE: [ihc] Help (ignition )

My 2 Cents: I agree with the AMC comment. I had a '73 Travelall
re-keyed and it was an AMC blank. Keep in mind that a '73 Travelall has
a dash mounted switch though. I replaced the column switch in my '74
Travelette (tilt column) and it seems to be AMC also. I can't swear to
that though. Could be GM, but it seems like the guy who made more keys
for me said AMC.

Anybody got a tilt column laying around for a '72 pickup. I just
brought another one home. 65,000 mile ex fire (brush) truck. Fairly
rusty and suffering from ignition problems (I think). 4 speed, PS, 4wd,
1210, 345, 4.10s. $100 and he felt guilty since it wasn't running right
when I loaded it up. Heck, the white spoke wheels are worth that to me!
The need for tilt is because the wheel gets tight on chubby legs and
tummies. Should be a fun truck for wearing out all the 16.5 traction
tires I have laying around.

I think it depends on what type of collumn. IIRC the tilt collumn is
from a
certain year range of elky (el camino) and the non tilt is AMC. I'm
sure
someone will be quick to correct me if I'm wrong.
