RE: [ihc] CVR dash gauges, etc.

In a stock setup, the CVR on the back of the Temp/Oil gauge powers all 3
instruments (temp, oil, fuel). If you hook up the electronic CVR as
described in the tech tip it will still power all 3.

Interesting about that tech tip.
It was written by our very own John Landry.
Now, does this fix adjust only the fuel gauge, or does it alter/modify the
other readings too?
The one I'd most like to see altered is the oil pressure, followed by the
temperature, then the
fuel, and the alternator is a bad/good type gauge so the amplitude of
needle swing isn't so
valuable to me.

SO, the kicker? If it (the CVR) only cures the fuel gauge, John's info is
suspect because I
now own that truck and there is an aftermarket fuel gauge in there
(autometer) and it reads
dead-on accurate, EXCEPT, there is some issue with the harness as it enters
the frame
below the passenger side body mount and then exits just outside the frame
rail by the starter.
The gauge sometimes pegs all the way full, and then causes you to run out
of gas in the most
inopportune places and times. Also, John made a calibration resistor
in-line with the gauge
and I haven't broken the circuit to measure that yet.
