[ihc] RE: Ed's Hoist
Not a weekend project!!!
To do it right, it would have to rotate so I could load motors and such
into the back of the pickup. You could use an old spindle and hub to do
that, but would surely need to borrow a torch to make the piece that
would bolt to the bolt pattern. If you have the torch, better use it to
do all these other cutting jobs that have been stacking up. It hasn't
rained lately so can't do some of that cutting which is
outside................
I don't try to talk myself out of jobs, just try to not have a lot of
wasted motion, like borrowing the torch multiple times. Sometimes it
ends up as no motion. <g> Don't laugh though, My 'ette is 4wd <vbg>.

Y'know, one of the things filtering it's way to the top of my "list" is
the acquisition of a pickup-bed mounted "crane"/hoist.
I find my cherry picker rolls quite poorly in the dirt (and usually
requires a Scout II to help motivate it under such conditions).
I find my pickup gets around alright on rough terrain.
Solution: install a hoist in the pickup. :D
Might have to buy a flatbed IH 3/4T 4x4 just to mount the hoist to.
Sounds like a good enough excuse to buy another rig to me...
