I've never used a Pertronix ignitor. Doesn't it require a ballast resistor
to protect its circuitry? And George doesn't have to bypass the ballast at
any time? Is that right?
George, the wire is so many ohms per foot. 6 feet times that many ohms gave
you the required resistance.

I run a ballast resistor on some, not on others.
It's not required, but it doesn't hurt.
More importantly, they require a coil with some resistance, like you'd
use with points. In particular, there's an MSD Blaster that should NOT
be used with the Pertronix, unless you add a resistor to the coil.
