The 2WD front springs are 46" long. The 4WD stock springs are 42" and mount
the axle asymetrically fore/aft. The front spring hanger is in the same
location for either, which is why there are 2 shackle mount positions
punched in the frame(they share the central rivet hole). To use the stock
pattern 4WD springs you will need to move the shackle mounts. The 2WD
springs can be used, and will give a couple inches of lift. With a stock IH
front driving axle, the 2WD springs will give you aprox 5deg. additional
positive caster and dropped pinion angle.

The frame is typically punched for the t-case mounts IME, but no guarantees.
I have not ever seen a frame that wasn't punched for both shackle mount
locations.

Here are a couple of questions to you guys who have done this to your pickup
or t-all. I am in the process of doing this to a customers truck. Does the
rear spring mounts on the front axle have to be moved forward or will the 4x
springs go back in the same location as the springs on the I beam axle? Is a
2WD frame predrilled for the t-case hangers of do they have to be punched?
