Thanks Jim, you're a wonderment.
I need to say in my own defense, that I replaced the master cylinder with a
new unit just before leaving home. AND, the power booster was dry, so I left
it as is.
Now, yesterday, when the booster wasn't working the rear reservoir on the
master cylinder was nearly dry, a long time symptom on the other mc. Neither
then or now, was there any discernable leakage anywhere. It would have been
fairly easy to replace the booster when I had the thing apart, and, of
course, I now wish I had done that.
I don't understand how the power booster can suck fluid out of a properly
sealed master cylinder, but that must be what's happening.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the numbers.
