[ihc] Re: BW TQ3 - rise of the Detroit Gear machines

Yah, what did those come in? I cannot think of it, but maybe if you
dropped some hints?
Your idea about the housing has merit. A popular swap is to
replace the guts of the older Stude units with FMX guts. Another thing
is to replace the AMC BW with the FMX, and use the AMC bellhousing. Same
center, same size hole in the housing where it goes over the oil pump and
stator, and the bottom two bolts are in the same location. Simply drill
and tap the tabs on the upper part of the case to match those on the
housing, and you are in biz. I would suspect you could just do the same
with the IHC housing on an FMX case, or other BW variant.
If history is any guide, my 'next year' will get an extension. I
have some projects that I started over 20 years ago that I have not
finished! However, I am getting wiser as I get older. Trying to pare
down my projects so I have time and resources to complete more realistic
projects. Anyone want a '72 Javelin SST project? Or a '41 Chev pickup
project? Or a '63 Lincoln project? Seriously, if you are, drop me a
line!
