[ihc] WHOO HOO! I can post!
I thought I'd give it a try since others had been reporting similar
problems and a test message showed up. I've been unable to post for
over a year now. Suddenly got my voice back...

kd> I'm just noting here that the classic "flat fender" Power Wagon did
kd> not use this pattern. They are a 5 lug, I can't recall the bolt
kd> circle, not 8" but still a large one. They used the same lug from
kd> WWII up to 1968 when the last one was made, all using the Chrysler 9-
kd> 5/8 diffs.
kd> The other Power Wagons must've used the six lug.

AE>> The 6 on 7.25 pattern used by IH through 68 is also found on dodge power
AE>> wagons until about 61. The axles for the power wagon are a bolt on swap to
AE>> the IH. There's a guy in my town that has a power wagon equipped in this
AE>> way. He said he had to make no mods at all. It may be that this was no
AE>> accident, as there are several similarities between the two, and it appears
AE>> as though there was more than a little bit of collaboration, or perhaps one
AE>> of the two makers used something that was already available because it met
AE>> the spec, and tooling cost returns would have been substantially lower when
AE>> negotiating price.
