Re: [ihc] Parking brake cable lubing

Allan-

I have found that removing both ends of the cable, pulling a few inches out,
and spraying lithium grease into the cable housing works just fine. Pulling
a couple of inches out pops the seal at the opposite end, and the housing
acts as a tube extender. Some scientific nonsense reason, I forget the
principle involved, something about needing an exit for the air you displace
or some such silliness. You just push the little red tube from the spray can
part way into the cable housing and spray until it starts to drip out the
other end. This usually occurs within a few seconds, 10 at most. (hint:
spray from the top down) Reconnect both ends and you're done. While you're
at it, a small zap to the speedo gear input is a good idea as well. Eldon
McFarling showed me this on my B120 travelall. Bad speedo. He just pulled it
apart and lubed it up and it started to work again.
