1. having the rod bolts undertorqued by 40% is ABSOLUTELY what caused one
to break--no guess involved.
2. try asking your local Snap Off man how often they recommend calibrating
a torque wrench !
3. with a bit of experience, one can generally tell 30 from 50 ft lbs.
