Re: [ihc] Need to debunk something, fast!

I'll throw in my thoughts as having run an H since I was about 8 years old
and that has been over 40 years ago.
First off if he plowed for 2 days on a tank of fuel, he either had a huge
auxiliary tank or he forgot to lower the plow. There was a "hot"
carburetor/manifold for them but it was for burning kerosene. You had a 1
gallon gas tank that was used to start and warm up the tractor and they you
switched valves and ran it on kerosene. The advantages were that kero cost
about 1/2 that of gas, disadvantages were less power, dilution of the oil
and if you shut it off or killed it , they were hard to start till you got
the kero out of the carb and gas in. These engines were also lower
compression to prevent detonation.
Parts for the H,M,B, BN.A, and C series are still plentiful and fairly easy
to get. Many repo parts being made now for the restorer hunting to make it
original.
Not bad for a tractor introduced in 1939.
