The last time I had the engine out (due to lifter clatter)  I studied many
things.  The cam bearing were all still in place I made sure all the oil
galleys were clear the one modification I did was to the rear cam bearing.
The cam bearing partially extended into the galleys that feeds the lifters.
I removed material from the rear cam bearing to allow 100% flow through the
galleys.
