I think you are mistaken.

About the only restriction MSD warns against with the 6A ignition system is
not to use solid core wires.  They also mention issues related to the
possibility of cross-firing in smaller distributor caps and ignition run-on
with certain charging systems.

There's no restriction on the type of spark plugs.
