MSD update and T-19 in Scout 800 update
Well I finished the install of all the MSD equipment and the Pertronics
ignighter. The thing really screams now. The old travler is a boot scoot
and boogy machine again.
I really like the Timing control that lets me change the timing 15 degrees
Retard/advance at the turn of a know. The other nice improvment is the off
the line acceleration and non boggy feeling.
Its all mounted inside the cab up under the dash (speaking of whitch the
new diamond plate aluminum one is under way now) where it will be dry and
safe from harms way.
The next thing is to change the front axle seals to new ones as the old are
leaking. Time to pull the axles and gears to get at the seals. Time
consumming job.
Thanks to all for the help I recieved in the swap to the T-19 in the Scout
800 (read none) i found out thru researching the shafts are different. My
solution is to remove the shaft from the T-19 and have it machined down to
the specs (length and respline) of the special Scout T-18 one so it will
fit. Wolla the ne rave installing T-19 into the Scout 80/800 with the 4
cyclinder. If its cost effective I will have some extra shafts made up
identicle so I can sell them to convertees.
The biggest benifit is that since the 4 speed in the Scout 80/800 is rare
there will now be an alternative to searching the earth for the 4 speed.
