     TalkAbout is only one example.  I chose the Cherokee FR-465
     Backlit display, 14 ch, 38 privacy codes, external power jack, 
     external earphone jack, external mike jack, drop in charging, active 
     button channel up/down.  $99 and two mile range in clear terrain.
     500mW 462-467 MHz.
     
     Kenwood, Uniden, Midland, Motorola, Cobra, Cherokee, Tandy, Maxon, 
     Nady, and a host fo others make these now.  Some for as inexpensive as 
     $49 ea.

Clear, quiet communication from car-car, bike-bike, bike-car, person-person, 
person-car, etc.  Auto-squelching too!
