Paul - right you are! The Lockright/EZLocker *IS* "weaker" than a full
blown Detroit thanks to re-use of the stock carrier.

However.. I'm not sure what it takes to blow apart a stock carrier.. from
everything I've heard, front axle shaft U-joints (BTDT) blow, or the rear
axle shaft snaps. But the R&P don't seem to grenade that often even
under abuse... IN SCOUT II '44s. Now, if we're talking Dana 70s...

Well, wait.. I have a friend with a '79 F250. He *was* running a
400M/T18 (wide)/NP205 and 4.88 gears.. with a reverse Dana 44 front and '60
rear, and 36" tires. Lockrights front and rear. He blew many front axle shaft
U-joints. Never a diff.

That same Ford now is a bit shorter (chopped the frame) and sports a
reverse cut '60 front and a '70 rear. 5.13 gears (lowest he could find
for the reverse '60)... guess what? Lockrights front and rear. And the
36s are history.. now it's 38" Swamper TSLs. So far so good.. no diff
failures, and no broken axle shafts (the reason for the axle upgrade)
