Re: IHers suspiciously quiet on Valantine's Day
In Linda Tripp's secret telephone recording, Monica and pharmer
<pharmer@domain.elided> were heard saying...

I have an excuse!
I've been in my garage for the last two days pulling my 345 and installing my
newly rebuilt 392. Man this is taking longer that I expected! But after two
days of work, the 392 is in and I should be ready to fire it up in a few more
hours. I'm just taking a short break before I go at it again.
But to be honest, I did take time to buy my wife some long stem roses. I'm
not going to be burned at the stake! <grin>
OH... BTW... You DO NOT need to remove the radiator from a Scout II to pull
the engine. There's *plenty* of room. I simply removed the radiator fan,
covered the face of the radiator with cardboard (just in case), removed the
transmission to engine block bolts, supported the auto tranny from underneath
with a small floor jack, lifted the engine slightly so the motor mount studs
were free, slid the engine forward a couple of inches, and raised her straight
up. I had maybe 3" clearance front and back. Worked like a charm and I took
digital photos to show everyone. I'll put them up on my web site when I'm
finished with this project.
Regards,
John L.
