   Ken,
   Not to state an obvious, but; does the axle have a limited slip in
it? If it does and it wasn't filled with limited slip fluid it would
make noise. Also, if the bearings on the axle ends are bad you could be
losing fluid there. Look at the brake backing plate and see if there is
any fluid leaking there.
