TOM, why the hell on Earth did you try starting the motor after pouring gas
all over the motor. Did no one ever tell ya to wait till it evaporated and
mabey help soak some off with rags. Good lord man that about cost ya yer
Scout. Just think melted fuel line with pressure still in it exploding and
spraying flaming fuel all over.....

Tom do us all a favor and either get Fuel Injection with all that extra
money you spend on buying more Scouts..(eliminates your fuel bowl leaking
problems, hows that to justify it to yourself) or spend some bucks on a
rebuilt carb $180 comes to mind if I recall. 

Please dont try to burn your Scout again in Protest that the Jeep company
is still around and IH Scouts are not. One I will miss You Joel Brodsky and
my trip planned for this summer and two there will be no more Manderisms if
you go up in Smoke as well.
