Re: Tough Binder Takes Top Honors!
Dear Digesters,
Super Scout Specialists,Inc. is proud to announce that its sponsored Racing
Team "Curt Vroegop & his 1977 ScoutII" Took Top honors in the Dome last
weekend!:
Many people know that the pontiac Silverdome is the home of the Detroit Lions
located in Pontiac, Michigan. It holds roughly 70,000 people. On January 16th
1999 Pace Motor Sports held the annual " Monster Jam" Truck Show, also
including a "Street Warrior"event. (Tough Truck obstacle course). The Stadium
was packed with truck enthusiast from all over the U.S.
Curt Vroegop from Richland, MI entered the race with his bright yellow 1977 IH
ScoutII with a vision of showing the crowd what he knew his Scout was really
made of - Well IH fans, did he put on a show!
There were 18 trucks competing in the first round on a course consisting of a
down and back style track with turns, jumps, & bumps. Curts Ih dazzled truck
fans when screamed through the course disposing of a 350 GMC Jimmy with ease.
The second round had matched the ScoutII with a built 360 Ram Charger. Curt
put the pedal to the metal and again pulled out a Victory, placing him in the
final round of the show against 351 Ford Pickup. Fans watched with
anticipation to see if the "Cornbinder" could make it to winners circle. Both
trucks were perched at the starting line waiting for the signal to start the
race. once again Curt tore up the track in record time and maneuvered his way
through the course finishing three legnths ahead his oponent. The crowd went
wild for the Shiney yellow ScoutII. The commentator congratulated Curt for his
accomplishmant and interviewed him in the center of the track asking several
questions about his technique and strategy.
This is the second year that Curt has been competing in tough truck events. He
has placed second & third many times but this was the first time he brought
home a first place finish. In September 1998 in Indianapolis, curt rolled his
Scout at the end of his first round. He had alot of air off the last jump and
the bank threw him over his top and side. He had the fast time of the day out
of 30+ trucks, but unfortinately had to pack up and go home to repair the
damages, With the Help of Super Scout Specialists, Curt was able to return his
truck to its racing condition and have it ready the January indoor events. His
next competition is January 23rd at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis at 7:30pm.
lets hope he makes all IH owners & Fans proud once again!........... Cally
