I had installed some of the seals made buy Compcams or Isky a while back and
the instructions also included a set of check springs (very light springs) to
check all of the clearances with. You can easily move the valves with the
springs on to check the retainer to seal or guide clearance. I did remove
about 1/8 ++ from the end of the guide (going by the instructions) and on some
I did need to remove a little move.
