Cutting Dash for CD Player

Hey List,

Any opinions on cutting my '74 IH pickup's dash to accept an in 
dash cd player?... The stock AM radio just doesn't play over the 
rest of the cab noise  <grin>... What I'm concerned about is 
destroying any antique value the pickup may have.... any thoughts 
would be appreciated.
