Well, I've got the screw-on type on the *battery* end on the cable, but down at
the *starter* side, it is the factory connecter.  I used the word 'crimped',
which maybe suggests that it was a home-job.  But it was the factory connection
-- maybe it is the 'cast' type you mention.  Anyway, that was the side that
went bad, and it sure doesn't seem that it should have done so after 18
months.  It *looked* pretty heavy-duty when I shelled out the money for it.
