Four Speed questions

Hi all, 

Did IH ever put the wide ratio T19's into a Scout with the diesel engine?
 I understand the close ratio was standard, but I don't know if the wide
ratio was optional.

Is there a way to tell the difference between a wide ratio T-19 trans and
a close ratio T19A without locating the numbers?  Are the shift patterns
the same? (Reverse over and down instead of over and up, etc...)
