Mike,
   I beleve that tention shackles are the GM and ful size Ford style
shackle where the spring eye goes above the perch and has a shackle that
points up and away from the spring in such a manor that thebottom of the
spring on the shackle end will almost sit on/against the spring perch.
Does that clear things up any?
