Engine Kits from Northern

John or someone asked about the Engine kits from Northern.  I just
bought one to rebuild my Wife's Grand Wagoneer (yes, that's a...a...
JEEP!).  At least for the AMC 360, all the bearings are Federal-
Mogul.  That is what came out of the original 169Kmile motor,
though the originals were probably not made in Mexico like the
new ones (can you say NAFTA?).  I upped for moly rings, which
were also Federal-Mogul.  The oil pump is a Melling.  They were also
very fair when I asked to upgrade/make changes.  I dropped the
cam/lifters off so I could buy the whole Edelbrock Performer package.
I also upped the timing set to a Milodon True Roller for an extra $40.
Got the Fel-Pro gasket upgrade too, it is a 'Kit Set' and did not
include the intake, but did cover everything else. Oh, yeah, the 
pistons are also F-M, but I think those are US made.  Overall,
I didn't have a problem with the kit, though I don't have the
engine put back together yet (that is this weekend's project).
