Brake Booster Leak

In my quest to eliminate my stumbling 304....

Found the brake booster is leaking! I can hear a hissing sound coming from
it when the motor's running. Disconnect the vacuum line at the carb and
plug it, and vacuum goes up 2" and the hissing goes away... *AND* my timing
mark almost stands still like it's supposed to!

I still catch glimpses of the timing mark in places it shouldn't be, but
it's MUCH more consistently where it should be.. which is currently at
10BTDC. I was originally running 16 when I swapped the motor in... which
may be part of the stumble issue..

I also seem to have a vacuum leak at one of the "temperature switch/vacuum"
"T"s... the one on the passenger side. it does have a 26yr old nipple
"plug" on it, so that may be the culprit.. I couldn't pry it off at 11pm
last night...

I *think* the booster is leaking at the inlet fitting, though I don't
believe it's at the *hose* itself, but more like the white plastic "elbow"
that goes from the hose into the booster. Is this the same leak I've heard
about so many times before? (this would also explain why my brakes feel funny)

What's the remedy for this problem?

I have a brand new booster in the garage... and m/c.. slated for the '72..
here I go again... "It won't be needing this for a while...." Now it lacks
driveshafts, a rear axle shaft, a motor, a transfer case... and I stole the
4spd I had bought for it...
