lifts and tires

Reapers,
Dennis P, Joe C, and I went wheeling today. Yesterday I swapped BFG
all-terrain T/A 31x10.50's onto Ugly with the Triangle lift. While
wheeling in the sand pits, I was getting full compression on the front
drivers side when I heard this really sickening grinding sound. I had to
stop and get out to see what it was. It turned out it was the tire being
compressed into the fender! I had tire/fender rub! This is with
31x10.50's! I couldn't beleive it!. It was mainly on the drivers side
front and the passenger side rear, because the pass front fender was
modified a while back and the drivers rear bent nicely up under the
truck on the first hit. So, for those of you taking notes on these
things, a 4" lift and 31x10.50's will rub under full compression. By the
way, these BFG's are really big compared to my 235x75 Firestones. They
are supposed to be only 1" difference, but that isn't true.
