Oh no-- Not the dreaded solenoid problem again !

Alright, we all been over this time and time again but like an idiot I
refused to keep the details. Short intro is came out of work today and
the Scout failed to start. Starter whirred as if the teeth were not
engaging in the flywheel. After adding a jumpstart and banging on the
solenoid a few time finally it caught. 20 miles later (thinking that it
must have bee the loose battery cable problem) stopped at the local
store. Guess what -- Same problem again except that couldn't get the
starter to catch at all. Whilst it whirred against the flywheel I could
see the fan turn a little every so often. Ended up being towed home by
a friend. Man I really missed the power steering and power brakes !
Lights were fine and had plenty of power. 

Does anyone have the Ford remote solenoid modification written up handy
or is it on the FAQ. Particularly need part numbers if available. Wife
is now convinced more than ever that the scout is a piece of junk and
is telling me to get rid of it
