Re: altinator
Mobiweld is the non-adjustable one.
I'm waiting on feedback from people that get the Mobiweld. I've heard people
curse the Premire system, but it was due to the mechanical voltage
regulator. They've since upgraded to an electronic model, so I don' know if
they still have a tendancy to blow.
I like the nice calculated design of the Mobiweld, but....
My only complaint is that the mobiweld doesn't sound like as versitile of a
system. Will it cut metal strap using a thick rod? What's the duty cycle?
Can I easily service it with parts from a local electrics supply house?
Or I could just get a small Welder/generator, set it in back amd drive it
off a PTO! Muahahaaha(Very big grin!)
I'll wait 9-12 months before deciding(Gotta get it before Y2K!)

Tom,
If you want to install an on-board welder one of the systems sold
includeds a 200 Amp alt to power the welder.
The welder system I like though, uses a Bosch 90 amp alt that used
some solid state electronics to step the power up enough to weld thick
steel. I forget that company name right now, but they are on the web.
