Dan,
The 37 Amp is ok, The 66 or is it 67 Amp is better (IMHO), I went with
the 67 Amp when I added a winch to my SS II, the 67 Alt came out of my
77 Terra so both are "stock". I like the brighter headlights (or so it
seems) that the 67 Amps provide.
Besides, with the 67 Amp I can run the radio's, Off road lights, and
other electrical's at the same time without my Alt getting hot.
I will upgrade to 90+Amps in the future because the winch tends to suck
the life out of both batteries in a hurry.
Price to have my 37 converted to 67 was $40.00 but if I did it myself it
would be under $25.00, alas too little time too many projects.
So bottom line *if* you plan on adding a winch, listening to the radio
or adding a CB, etc., do the upgrade to 67 Amps (or more) now.
Question: why would the Terra have a 67 Amp and the SS II have a 37 Amp?
the only differences between the two
rigs is: the terra has 304 , 727 and longer wheel base, while the SS II
has 345 , T-19 and is short.
