The side indicator lights do *not* blink.  Your problem sounds like bad 
grounds.  Put a voltmeter in the sockets and see if there is power 
there.  If yes, check your grounds.  They're pretty bad in the front turn 
signals.  I put in new sockets from NAPA, same housing though.  I just 
cut a hole with the trusty Dremel.
