I've heard this too... others proudly proclaim, "If it seizes.. I'll buy
another one from the junk yard for $30!"... this is more in reference to
what I believe are the Tecumseh pumps on mid-70s GM. As you've mentioned
before, Ken, the Sanden isn't cheap...
My York *has* seen near continous duty for hours at a time... I don't have a
compressor at home in my shop, so the Scout has been used for long periods
to power the air compressor...

Your safety pop-off valve should've blown before you hit 250psi... or did
you not install one yet?
When I was just testing, I jumpered the clutch on the compressor for just a
moment... and was greeted to a very loud bang/pop in my ear from the 150psi
safety valve! ;)
