Rob,

AFAIK, the older style thermostats are no longer manufactured.  When I
called Stant (who use to make them) in the last year, they told me it was
discontinued.  So unless someone other than Stant is now making these
"large opening" type thermostats (maybe Robert Shaw???), they're not to be
had any longer.
