I removed the headliner from mine last year and painted it while 
restoring the rest of the top.

The blind pins are easy.  you may be able to pull them out with your 
fingers, but may need to use a pliers.  They pull straight out, just work 
them around a bit.  you might want to put some tape on the the jaws of 
the pliers.
