Castoring a front 2wd Axle

The '72 2wd/258/727/RHD is certainly *not* a great handler, especially when
going over 65 mpg.  Scary when hitting larger bumps on the interstate.  I
attribute this to:  1) old bushings, gonna replace with poly, 2) lacking
the front "stabilizer bar" standard on later years.  However, I got to
thinking that "twisting" the front tube axle would be a snap.  Just toss in
some "wedges" and no driveshaft to worry about the angle.  Where would I
get said wedges and what would ya'll recommend for a caster angle (2
degrees?).  Oh and BTW, anybody got a stabilizer bar they want to part
with?  Especially if you're-a-goin to the Nationals?

P.S. the "fat" part of the wedge would be towards the rear of the truck, so
the top ball joint would be ahead of the bottom ball joint when going down
the road, correct?
