Jacob's ignition craps out.

  Well, after 3 years my Jacob's ignition bit the bullet.  Symptoms
similiar to those described by John Landry  when his MSD crapped out
recently.  When the engine was hot it would die at stop lights and restart
with lots of cranking.  Got progressively harder to start when the engine
was warm.   Slight popping from the exhaust when running.  Finally just
refused to restart right in the middle of a major intersection this
afternoon.

  Worst part was I was about ten miles from home and had to call
smart-mouth wife to bring a section of wire to reconnect the old coil
ignition.  My wife isn't a Scout person so listening to her Scout jokes is
way worse than the honks and comments from the other drivers when I blocked
that intersection.

  I think I'll switch to MSD.  I could send the Jacob's back for repair,
but the thought of dealing with anybody at Jacob's again isn't very
appealing.  Summit has the MSD-6A for $125, is that the best deal around?

Doug, who wonders if he parked too close to Landry's Traveller at the
NWBRU, maybe a virus?
