New lurker asks for Knowledge!

Greetings IH fanatics. I am a short-time lurker, long-time IH owner.
Learned to drive in a 70 travelall with insta-jam three speed on the
tree, V304, 2WD.

My personal truck since 1988 has been a 1964 Travellette - V304,
granny-low four speed, Manual steering, Manual brakes, hydraulic clutch,
five-lug wheels. Love that truck! But, trying to make a U-turn in a
parking lot can lift me out of the seat. I have developed arms like
Popeye, and those brakes have made me a safer driver - 300 yards is a
nice following distance, thank you. Overload leaf springs in the rear.
The Wife says seatbelts optional, but bras are mandatory. Solid front
axle. No rust.

I just bought a donor - a 1971-72 1210 4WD ¾ ton, with 8 lug wheels,
power steering, power brakes. Two shifters on the floor. Linkage for the
clutch, booster for the brakes. Also a frozen 392, for later....

So I am moving everything I can over, starting with the rear axle, which
I am rebuilding now. What problems and solutions can you offer with your
combined eons of experience? I don't know what won't fit, but if I can
get any component to work - power steering, power brakes, new rear axle,
and/or 4WD and front axle, then it was worth the money.

What advice can you give? And by the way, I will have some left-over
parts if y'all need them, in the Portland OR area. Including, I hope, a
very recent all-new-parts rebuild of the 4 wheel drum brakes from the
1964. Replaced everything including the drums, master and slave
cylinders, hoses about 2 years ago. Also, most of a flat-bed 1210 truck,
complete with Oregon rust.

One problem I anticipate is that the 1964 has the clutch master cylinder
built into the brake cylinder; I will either need to cut that in half,
or figure a way to linkage to the clutch master leaving room for the
boosted new master cylinder for the brakes. I suppose I could always rig
up a cable, but I like the hydraulic clutch. Have not had to adjust the
clutch in 10 years.

I look forward to your collective wisdom, posted or private-emailed. The
only documentation I have at this point is an old Motors manual.
