Travelall

Gary,
Today, you see mostly pickups pulling 5th wheels, but there was
a day
when real trailer pullers had either a Travelall or a Suburban.
We had a
Travelall (see my web site) that we used to pull our trailer and
to 4 WD.
We were, I am sure, one of the few to use their tow vehicle for
4
Wheeling.

Prior to us getting our Travelall, I suffered from tow-vehicle
envy to an
awesome extent every time I saw a Travelall. Personally, I
always liked
the looks of the older models better than the one we had.
Obviously, the
one you are looking at was put together to do trailer pulling.
This
probably didn't hurt the vehicle at all.

We camped next to one of these Travelalls in the desert one
time. He had
PTO powered on-board air, a small lathe in the back, a PTO
powered
welder, air chucks at each corner of the vehicle, and tools,
tools,
tools.

If it's in any kind of shape the price is right, although it
will
probably take a lot of work.
John

John,Michael, and all the other digesters,

I went to see this vehicle, I really did'nt know what to expect, but was
very pleasently surprized. It has the 304 engine, the transmission
shifts in and out of gears sooooooo smoothly, the color is a forest
green(original paint)that is in good 40 year, only one dent(possibly
grazed tree stump), clean everything, runs like top.
Thank you Michael for all the great info that you keep sending me.
I will keep you all posted, right now though I need to figure out if I
need to take a night job at Beacon.
If someone sent me info. and I didn't thank you yet its because I
haven't read all my mail yet.
