Engine Woes, thanks!



Hi all,

Thanks to those who responded to my engine woes problems.  It turned out
that my cylinders were holding water, and now the engine is totally
locked with the rings stuck to the cylinder walls.

I was lucky enough to find a good 345 this weekend from Chris Rudd in
Murfreesboro, TN (thanks Chris - I checked out the engine a little
yesterday, seems like it'll work just fine).  I only have a few issues
to address before I can do the engine swap.  First, I got a flywheel
from Chris, but I didn't get the flywheel bolts.  Can anyone advise me
as to what bolts will work, and can I just go get them from the hardware
store?  Also, I need to put on new valve cover and oil pan gaskets.  Any
recommendations on which gaskets will work best?  Finally, there is some
pollution stuff on the newer engine that I don't need (like EGR valve).
Can I just put a cap over the vacuum fittings, without effecting the way
the engine runs?
