The Premier IHC event south of the Mason-Dixon will be even better for
1998 as SOUTHERN SCOUTS joins with Pace Motor Sports and the first name
in 4X4 publications, Peterson's, to participate in the U.S. Truck Fest
Series.  With a Show-'N-Shine display featuring 12+ judging classes and
Recognition Awards for the Best Club Participation, Longest Distance
Traveled, and of course, The Ugliest Truck, a turnout of IHC vehicles
from across the Southeast, as well as the US, is expected.  Those in
attendance will be able to vote for their favorite vehicle during the
Peoples' Choice Judging.  For those with repair and upgrade of their
vehicle in mind, our Vendor Area will again feature some of the
country's top IHC Vendors featuring an array of OEM and aftermarket
upgrades as well as plenty of technical advice.  Our Parts Swap Area
will offer the opportunity for a little buying, selling, or trading.
New activities for 1998 will include continuous Door Prize drawings, a
Guided Trail Ride in the nearby Uwharrie National Forest, and some
"Truck Games."   All this plus the action of the U.S. Truck Fest Series
that features a Manufacturer's Midway, Show-'N-Shine, Extreme Truck Off
Road Course, Mud & Sand Drags, Ruff Trux Competition, and World Monster
Truck Racing Championships.  And the kids can have a ball in the Extreme
Kids Zone.
All this takes place June 12, 13, & 14 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the
center of the NASCAR universe, where over 40 state of the art race shops
(most of which are open 7 days a week for viewing) are within a 30
minute drive.
